Mom’s 93!

As of Christmas Day,12.25.12, my 91 year old mom is 93!

What does 93 look like?

Well here she is, that little stick of dynamite, at 93 and counting (drum roll, please) … Helen Douglas Martin Laughon!

FYI: I will be keeping my91yearoldmom.com domain until mom’s 100.

I’ll celebrate that milestone by changing it to my100yearoldmom.com. In the meantime, I have plenty of real estate to add a new tab for each birthday for the next 6 years. Think about it this way. You only have one domain to remember for the next 6 years. And, besides, girls always fib about their age anyway, so 91 and holding it will be, at least for the immediate future.

Here’s an example of girls fibbing. I asked mom how old she was and she asked me to give her choices. So here are the four I came up with:

  1. 2 years old
  2. 6 years old
  3. 22 years old
  4. 93 years old

She immediately eliminated 93 because she said that was way too far away. Then, after a long, thoughtful pause, she picked 22 years old.

I asked her why 22?

Her rational was simple, yet elegant, “It just sounds better. I am 22, and that’s it.”

So that’s it, another great reason not to change domains. Depending on the day, no telling what mom might choose. You would never be able to find us, but then again, the domain folks would love us!

So, what are we waiting for? It’s time to buckle up and get ready for the 2013 portion of our journey. No telling where we are going or how we will get there, but I promise you this … it will be one heck of a ride!
