Thanksgiving’s for Nappers

Buddies Napping

Somehow I have to believe the Indians and Pilgrims who came together to create the first Thanksgiving also created the first group nap.

The two just go together.

It’s like every bite of food you put in your mouth whispers, “You’re getting sleepy. You’re getting real sleepy.”

Now, mom is no stranger to a good nap. It wasn’t the dinner that did her in, it was the desert. She went straight for the Cookies and Cream ice cream and orchestrated it so her eyes closed exactly after the last spoonful went down.

The big question … is she counting turkeys or counting sheep?

Only she knows and it looks like she’s going to keep it to herself.

  4. No doubt a well-deserved “snoozer.” Apparently, her little friends did not get their naps, since their eyes were still open, But I’m sure she has them trained well, so that they were very quiet while she napped!

  5. This is so sweet, and I’m so glad she has you to enjoy these years with, Tom. I enjoyed every minute of my time with Mom, and like Helen, she had a good long run, also. I think it was due to the laughter and the “not taking life too seriously” thing they enjoyed. Helen looks a lot like my mom (Michaux Taylor) in these years, Tom. I really enjoy your emails….those cousins were just the best ever. I often wish Mom were still here…they’d be having a blast.
